Supports the Department Head and Academic Business Administrator in a multitude of activities, utilizing professional, organizational, verbal and written skills.
Reviews and responds to mail addressed to the Department Head; composes, edits and proofreads correspondence; responds to e-mail enquiries; communicates with faculty, staff, students and university administrators; processes visa employment paperwork; schedules meetings; coordinates travel arrangements and itineraries; updates departmental webpages as appropriate; manages confidential material which includes the Head's files and the Department's personnel files. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, accurate attention to detail, advanced computing skills in the use of word processing, database, spreadsheet software packages and web related technology.
